1. Monthly subscriptions
Herald and Odyssey are billed as monthly subscriptions, per seat, in South African Rand, paid in advance for each billing period. Unless you cancel, a subscription renews automatically at the start of each new month.
2. Cancelling
- You can cancel at any time by emailing admin@jaxn.co.za from, or referencing, the account’s registered email.
- Cancellation stops the next renewal. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not bill you again after that.
- There is no cancellation penalty and no minimum term (unless a separate written custom arrangement says otherwise).
3. Refunds
Because the Service is a digital data and software product that is made available immediately, monthly fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started. That said, we want the arrangement to be fair:
- Billing errors — if you were charged in error, charged twice, or charged after a valid cancellation, we will correct it and refund the incorrect amount in full.
- Service failure — if the Service was substantially unavailable or not delivered for a material part of a paid period due to a fault on our side, we will, at our discretion, credit or pro-rata refund that period.
- Goodwill — outside those cases we may still offer a partial or pro-rata refund at our discretion; just ask.
Approved refunds are made to the original payment method within a reasonable period after we confirm them.
4. Custom arrangements
Multi-seat or negotiated custom arrangements are governed by their own written agreement, which sets out the term, price and any notice period. Where that agreement differs from this policy, the agreement applies.
5. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we may pause delivery of the Service until payment is received. If the account remains unpaid, we may cancel the subscription. Restarting after a lapse simply begins a new billing period.
6. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — we can almost always resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Raising a chargeback for a service that was provided may lead to suspension of the account pending resolution.
7. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 that cannot lawfully be excluded — including any cooling-off right that applies to you. Where those rights apply to you, they prevail over anything to the contrary above.
8. Contact
For any cancellation or refund request, email admin@jaxn.co.za. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
